1. Acceptance of Terms
By subscribing to FinanceSimply, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you don't agree, please don't subscribe.
2. Description of Service
FinanceSimply provides:
- Free Newsletter: Daily UK finance news in plain English
- Premium Subscription (£4.99/month or £49.99/year): Additional deep-dive reports and full archive access
3. Free vs. Premium
Free: You'll receive 3-5 stories every weekday morning. Free forever, no payment required.
Premium: Billed monthly or annually via Stripe. Includes everything in Free plus weekly reports and archive access. Cancel anytime.
4. Account Responsibilities
- You must provide a valid email address
- You're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure
- One account per person
- Don't share premium content publicly
5. Payment Terms (Premium Only)
- Billing: Monthly (£4.99) or Annual (£49.99)
- Auto-Renewal: Your subscription renews automatically unless cancelled
- Cancellation: Cancel anytime via your account dashboard or Stripe customer portal
- Price Changes: We'll notify you 30 days before any price increases. If you do not wish to continue at the new price, you may cancel before the renewal date at no charge and the existing price will apply until the end of your current billing period.
5.1 Statutory right to cancel (14-day cooling-off period)
Consumers in the UK have a 14-day right to cancel under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, starting the day after your subscription begins. To cancel, email support@financesimply.co.uk or use the model cancellation form available on request. Where you have accessed premium content during the cancellation period, you acknowledge under reg. 36 that you have expressly consented to the service beginning and that you lose the right to cancel once the service is fully performed; we may deduct a proportionate amount for content already accessed. After the 14-day period, you may cancel at any time via the Stripe customer portal; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period (no pro-rata refund) unless we agree otherwise.
5.2 At a glance
£4.99 will be charged every month (or £49.99 every year) on the anniversary of your first payment, using the card on file, until you cancel. You can cancel at any time via the Stripe customer portal; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
6. Content Disclaimer and Financial Promotions
FinanceSimply is not authorised or regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA). Nothing in this newsletter is intended to be, or should be read as, an invitation or inducement to engage in investment activity within the meaning of section 21 of the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000. All content is journalistic commentary on publicly reported information.
Nothing in the newsletter constitutes a personal recommendation, financial advice, or an invitation to engage in investment activity. Any views expressed are the author's editorial opinion. You should take independent professional advice before making any financial or investment decision. Past performance is not a guide to future performance. 7. Intellectual Property
All newsletter content, design, and branding belong to FinanceSimply. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and read the newsletter and website for your own personal, non-commercial use. This licence does not transfer any ownership rights to you.
You may:
- Read and enjoy the content for personal use
- Share individual story links
You may not:
- Republish our content without permission
- Scrape or copy our newsletters
- Use our content for commercial purposes
User-generated content: If you submit feedback, replies or suggestions to us by email or otherwise, you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual licence to use that feedback solely to improve the service. We will not publish your feedback publicly without your consent.
8. Unsubscribing
You can unsubscribe at any time by:
- Clicking the "Unsubscribe" link in any email
- Emailing us at support@financesimply.co.uk
Premium subscribers: Unsubscribing from emails does NOT cancel your paid subscription. Cancel via your account dashboard or Stripe portal.
9. Service Availability
We aim for 99%+ uptime but don't guarantee uninterrupted service. We may:
- Perform maintenance (we'll try to notify you)
- Experience technical issues
- Modify or discontinue features
10. Prohibited Activities
Don't:
- Abuse our service (spam, harassment, illegal activity)
- Attempt to hack or disrupt our systems
- Use bots or automation to abuse our service
- Resell or redistribute our content
11. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account if you:
- Violate these terms
- Engage in fraudulent activity
- Abuse our service
If we terminate your premium subscription for breach, we will refund a pro-rata amount for the unused portion of your current billing period, unless the breach involves fraud or other unlawful activity.
12. Limitation of Liability
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability for:
- death or personal injury caused by our negligence;
- fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation;
- any breach of the terms implied by the Consumer Rights Act 2015 that cannot lawfully be excluded; or
- your right to compensation for damage caused by a personal data breach under Article 82 of the UK GDPR, this statutory right cannot be excluded or restricted by contract.
Subject to those non-excludable liabilities, our total liability to you arising out of or in connection with these Terms or your use of the service is limited to the amounts you have paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim. We are not liable to you for any indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, or loss of data. We are not liable for investment or financial decisions you make in reliance on our editorial content.
The service is provided "as is". We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted or error-free.
13. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. You and we agree that the courts of England and Wales have non-exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with these Terms, except that nothing in this clause deprives you as a consumer of the protection of the mandatory rules of the law of your country of habitual residence, or of your right to bring proceedings in the courts of that country.
14. Complaints and Alternative Dispute Resolution
If you have a complaint about the service, please email us at support@financesimply.co.uk. We aim to acknowledge your complaint within 2 working days and resolve it within 14 working days.
We are not currently a member of an approved alternative dispute resolution (ADR) scheme under the Alternative Dispute Resolution for Consumer Disputes (Competent Authorities and Information) Regulations 2015. If we cannot resolve your complaint, you may bring proceedings in the courts of England and Wales or, if your claim qualifies, use the small claims track (Money Claim Online at gov.uk/make-court-claim-for-money).
15. Changes to Terms
We may update these terms. We'll notify subscribers of significant changes via email. Continued use after changes means you accept the new terms.
